Claussen's Corner was built in
1850's by Frank Egan as the Central Park
Hotel. At the time it included a brothel
upstairs. Some say at times there are ghosts
in the upstairs window. Remarkably the
building has been in the same family since
Blagoje Ratkovich bought the hotel in
1940. The downstairs tavern is now
owned and operated by Randy and Betty
Claussen. This historical building has had a
business operating in it for more than 150
years. The Claussens will have an adult
beverage booth and tri-tip sandwiches at Gold Rush Day and
Autumn Harvest Street Fair on October 19, from 11
a.m. to
4 p.m. While attending the
Street Fair be sure to read the historical plaque
at Claussen's Corner. The Corner is
celebrating Angels Camp's past, present and
