FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On 10/15/13, at approximately 3:25 PM, an
officer from the Angels Camp Police Department was dispatched to the 1200 block
of S. Main Street on a report of two females that were in a store and attempted
to purchase $5,000.00 worth of jewelry. The reporting party advised that the
females were also attempting to purchase items from other businesses in the
area, and they felt that it was suspicious. When their credit card was declined
for the purchase, the females left after stating that they would return after
going to the bank. The officer arrived and checked the area, and initially did
not locate the subjects.
Shortly after 5:00 PM the females returned to
the area, and an officer responded to the same location and detained the two
females. Further investigation revealed that the females were in possession of
false identification and forged credit cards. A third associated female subject
was located in the 400 block of S. Main Street and was also detained.
Witness merchants positively identified the
subjects detained as the involved subjects, and all three were arrested. The
following items are a partial list of evidence items recovered from the scene
and their motel room after a subsequent search was conducted; numerous items of
recently purchased clothing and jewelry, stolen mail, stolen and /or altered
identification, numerous forged credit cards, credit card blanks to manufacture
forged credit cards, methamphetamine and narcotic paraphernalia, a credit card
embosser used to forge credit cards, stolen checks, and digital storage devices
and computers. Two rental cars were also seized as evidence, one from the 1200
block and one from the 400 block of S. Main Street. Receipts and other indicia
recovered from the motel room indicate that the suspects have been traveling
from the Fresno area to Reno, NV, and have recently been in Amador and Tuolumne
Counties. Law Enforcement authorities from Amador and Tuolumne Counties have
been notified of the arrests and follow-up investigation will be done in those
jurisdictions. Follow-up investigation will continue to determine if other
jurisdictions are involved.
Amanda Nicole Nicoletti, a 27 year old
Clovis, CA resident was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on
charges related to conspiracy to commit a crime, commercial burglary, forgery,
grand theft, identity theft, and possession of methamphetamine. Additionally,
Nicoletti had three outstanding felony warrants for her arrest, from Fresno
County.
Bobbi Jo Heiss, a 26 year old Oakhurst, CA
resident was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges
related to conspiracy to commit a crime, commercial burglary, forgery, grand
theft, and identity theft.
Brittney Janet Booth, a 27 year old Fresno,
CA resident was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges
related to conspiracy to commit a crime, commercial burglary, forgery, grand
theft, and identity theft.
The U.S. Secret Service has been notified of
this investigation, and they will be assisting with the forensic examination of
the digital storage devices that were recovered. They will also review the case
for possible filing of federal charges.
