Sheriff Dept press release re: Burson Woman Arrested for Homicide
(Burson, CA) On October 16, 2013 at approximately 10:15 pm
Calaveras County Sheriff’s deputies and detectives responded to a
residence on the 5700 block of Amos Lane in Burson for a report of a
shooting. Upon arrival deputies located a deceased 52 year old male on
the property. They also discovered a critically injured 20 year woman.
Both victims suffered gunshot wounds. A young, uninjured child was also
found inside the home. The injured woman was transported to a Modesto
area hospital for treatment. During the investigation the deputies
arrested 56 year old Charity Ford of Burson. Arrestee Ford was booked
into the Calaveras County Jail on the charges of Penal Code 187: Murder,
Penal Code 664/187: Attempted Murder and Penal Code 273a (a): Child
Cruelty (all felonies).
