Angels Camp PD press release re: Stolen Motorcycle Investigation and Recovery / ACPD Case # 13-0366

On 03/30/13, at approximately 11:30 A.M., an officer from the Angels Camp Police Department took a report of a stolen motorcycle. The motorcycle was taken from inside of a building in the 400 block of N. Main Street, sometime the previous week. 

Follow-up investigation revealed that the stolen motorcycle was being stored at a residence in the 6000 block of Possum Trail in Murphys. On 04/01/13 an officer from the Angels Camp Police Department and a deputy from the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office went to the address on Possum Trail and recovered the stolen motorcycle. A custom made mechanic’s “creeper” was also determined to be stolen and was recovered at this time. Further investigation revealed the names of the subjects responsible for the theft of the motorcycle.
On 04/02/13 an interview by an Angels Camp PD investigator was conducted at the Calaveras County Jail, with a subject that is currently in custody on unrelated charges. David P. Cline, a 29 year-old Murphys resident, was interviewed and ultimately charged with additional charges related to commercial burglary, vehicle theft, criminal conspiracy, and possession of stolen property.
04/03/13 additional interviews were conducted with two more subjects. Kenneth J. Leonard,  a 46 year-old Angels Camp resident was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges related to commercial burglary, vehicle theft, criminal conspiracy, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
Also on 04/03/13, Dale L. Hines, a 56 year-old Murphys resident, was interviewed, arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges related to possession of stolen property and criminal conspiracy.
This investigation is open and ongoing.
