Letter to the Editor re: short term rental clarification by Ralph Copeland

Good Afternoon!
Could the Copper Gazette publish the PDF information below regarding short term vacation rentals on Lake Tulloch.

Posting this current information for short term vacation rentals at Lake Tulloch could help clear up any confusion regarding this ordinance.

Included is the actual signed ordinance which has been extensively revised from the initial draft (a copy of an old draft of this ordinance is still on a HOA website), includes the fee schedule adopted at the March 11th, 2014 BOS meeting (unanimously), application instructions, and a copy of the permit form.

HOA's will be receiving a copy of short term vacation applicants and then they will receive a copy of the short term vacation permits.  If a HOA feels this ordinance is none of their concern, they should know they are definitely a part of this process.
Thank you!
Ralph Copeland

Letter to Supervisors re: short term rentals - from Lisa Boltzen

Dear Supervisor's,

I am writing this statement in hopes that it persuades your decision when voting on the proposed ordinance to regulate short-term rentals.

I have served on the Board of Copper Cove @ Lake Tulloch Owner's Association for almost 6 years, I have served in the capacity of the Board President and currently as Board Secretary.

I have been a homeowner in the Lake Tulloch community for 11 years and I have experienced the same challenges of many of my neighbors, some of them financial & some nuisance neighbors. Most of all, I have experienced & enjoyed the vacation style opportunities that living in the Lake Tulloch community offers to everyone "locals & visitors" alike

Short Term Rental = Short tempers at BOS meeting

At the 2-12-13 Board of Supervisors meeting the issue of Lake Tulloch vacation rentals was visited once again.

The previous vote of 4-0 (Callaway absent) to adopt the ordinance requiring short term rentals being permitted went back to the drawing board at the Planing Department for some changes in language including but not limited to : exempting Driftwood Townhomes from the as they have no public access to the lake; visit the capacity of a home for vacation rental, possibly utilizing square footage in lieu of the current factor that allows 2 persons per room; change the title of the ordinance to Regulations for County Areas - not only Lake Tulloch. This re-opened the ordinance to more discussion.

Multiple citizens chose to speak to the issue.
