San Andreas, CA – The California Highway Patrol and the
Calaveras County Resource Connection are teaming up for a Pack-The-Patrol Car
Turkey & Toy Drive. You too can
participate in the event dedicated to feeding Calaveras County families in need
this holiday season.
The Calaveras County Food Bank is in desperate need of
turkeys and all other food items. “We
are planning on serving 900-1000 families and are in need of turkeys, hams, and
all other holiday food items” stated Jeannie Hayward, Program Director for the
Food Bank.
We will be at the Save Mart Shopping Center in Angels Camp
on Saturday, November 15th & 22nd. All you need to do is drop off a frozen
turkey or ham, or any other non-perishable food item, between 10:00am and
3:00pm. If you can’t make it to Angels
Camp, you can also drop of food or money at the Food Bank, 206 George Reed Drive in San Andreas.
At the same time, ChiPper will be collecting toys for the
CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive. You can help
by bring new, unwrapped, toys which will be donated to Santa’s Express. If you are unable to make it to our location,
you can always drop of the toy at the CHP Office in San Andreas or Sub-Station
in Arnold between November 15th and December 15th.
We have 1500 children, age 0 – 11years old, and our plan is
to provide each child with 2 new toys.
So please help us by donating a new toy to the children in our community
that are less fortunate.
