SRT’s 'Harvey' – a delightful romp

Sierra Repertory Theater’s Harvey was creatively cast, directed and performed.

While the plot of the play is seemingly clear, the full story unfolds with clever precision and many hilarious twists and turns, keeping the audience engaged and wondering at the next step.

Elwood, played by Jeffrey Peters, is perfection when it comes to speaking to his invisible friend – a 6 foot tall invisible rabbit named Harvey. His demeanor dealing with the many feathers that Harvey’s existence, or lack thereof, has ruffled is akin to that of a parent dealing with obstinate young children. He is carefree and caring at the same time.

Veta, played by Jennie Donnell, is wonderfully cast as the want-to-be high society lady of the house. Her verve throughout the play is infectious.

Set design, though seemingly simple, was most complex and highly creative.
Once again SRT puts on a splendid performance.
