Post 12118, I wish to thank the Copperopolis Community and all those that
participated in the second Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony, November 11, 2013.
Thanks go to

Planning Department, Calaveras Public Works, Cal Trans. Calaveras County
District 4 Supervisor Debby Ponte, the Copperopolis Fire Protection District,
and all the Volunteer Firefighters, Calaveras County Sheriff Gary Kuntz, Deputy
Newnam and the Sheriff’s Volunteers. The
California Highway Patrol, McCartys Construction, Foothill Sanitary. Cheryl
Stone of CalTel, Copper Canyon Baptist Church, and our great announcer Don

Calaveras Bailey Van Zant, First Runner-up Summer Hamari, Second Runner-up
Grace Garcia and their “chariot drivers, Dewayne Elson and Ron White. To
Jennifer Truman-Nanik and her Bret Harte high School students; your
presentations on Wounded Veterans organizations and their wonderful efforts for
the wounded veterans along with collecting donations for the different groups,
certainly made a huge impact on everyone that visited your booths. Last, but
certainly not the least, the World War 2 and Korean War Veterans who live at
Foothill Village Senior Living Community and our very own Post 12118 WWII and
Korean War Veterans. Their participation this year made Veterans Day extra
special here in Copperopolis. Thank you
all.
Each and
every person, group, and organization deserves all the thanks for their time,
their donations and their cooperation in allowing the James D. Piper, Veterans
of Foreign Wars Post 12118 to hold the second annual Copperopolis Veterans Day
Parade.
Lastly, I
wish to thank all the residents of the Copperopolis Community that took the
time and interest to attend the Veterans Day Parade. Your applause and kind
words made our hearts swell with pride and thanks. For many of the
participating Veterans, this was their first Veterans Day Parade. We were
honored by your attendance and (once) again, Proud to Serve.
If I have
missed anyone, forgive me. There were so many people involved with this event,
I’m sure I may have forgotten someone or some organization.
