For the past 15+ years the family owned business of McCartys Construction in Copperopolis have been helping with fire supression locally and afar through the use of their water tenders and dozers.
When Ron McCarty (founder of McCartys Construction) was still with us he was an active member of the Copperopolis volunteer fire department and saw a need within the department and surrounding communities for aid with equipment - equipment he already owned. The lightbulb went off in his head and ever since then when CALFIRE calls, McCartys responds.
What adds to the interest and generosity of the service is that the equipment is manned by McCartys employees...not firefighters.
Though they mostly are called out locally in the late 2000's they were called to Shasta County with their dozer and fought that fire for three weeks.
