Sheriff Dept Advisory: Murphys Women Arrested for Burglary

Murphys Woman Arrested for Commercial Burglary and Possession of Controlled Substance

(San Andreas, CA) On 04/07/12 Calaveras Sheriff’s deputies responded to Treats General Store in San Andreas for a report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival the deputies learned that Teri Lynn Parker (42) of Murphys, entered the store, put a can of hairspray into her purse, and walked out the store. A store employee intercepted and detained her. Ms. Parker told the deputies that she accidentally put the hairspray into her purse when she discovered that she had no money and returned to her vehicle to get money. Ms. Parker was arrested and transported to the Calaveras County Jail on the charges of 2nd Degree Burglary (felony) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (felony). During the post-arrest search of Ms. Parker the deputies located money and several prescription pills listed as a Schedule III narcotic in her purse. The pills were not prescribed to Ms. Parker. The value of the hair spray was $3.99.
