On Friday, December 30, members of the Calaveras County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit served a
search warrant at a residence located on Quail Oaks Road in Valley Springs.
During the search, investigators seized over 250 prescription pain pills, approximately 2 grams
of methamphetamine, over 15 lbs of marijuana product, and a large amount of U.S. currency
which is suspected to be the proceeds of drug sales. The pain pills were possessed without a
prescription and are believed to have been possessed for sale.
Fernando Piedra (age 22) of Valley Springs was taken into custody and booked on the following
charges:
11377(a) H&S - Possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine)
11351 H&S Possession of a Narcotic for sale
11350(a) H&S Possession of a controlled substance (Pills)
11357 (c) H&S Possession of greater than 28.5 grams of Marijuana
11359 H&S Possession of Marijuana for sale
135 P.c. Destruction of evidence
Piedra posted bail and was released from the jail shortly after his arrest. The investigation is
continuing while numerous reports have been sent to the District Attorney for review and
prosecution.
