On 19 Dec. 2011, a Good Samaritan contacted the Sonora Police Department and reported they had found $1,600 in cash while in a local park. The Good Samaritan said they were turning the money in, “because it was the right thing to do.”
The money contains some very identifiable marks and has been confirmed not to be counterfeit. Local law enforcement agencies have been contacted and no one has reported the loss or the theft of this amount of money, in the given domination amounts.
Anyone attempting to claim the money will be required to identify the money and the dominations it is in. If no one claims the money the Good Samaritan could claim it after 90 days.
Anyone with information regarding the money is asked to call the Sonora Police Department at (209) 532-8141.
