A Senior Project Dinner & Dance to Benefit Copper Kids Camp

Elysa Schulte and Sam Baxter have lived here in Copper most of their lives, Sam since the age of 5 and Elysa since she was born, so when it came time to complete their Senior project, it was only natural that they chose to give back to the community they love so much.

Choosing Tim Reed as their mentor, and with the help of Jane Evritt and Maggie Rollings, Elysa and Sam have organized a dinner dance to benefit the Copperopolis Parks and Rec. Elysa has been a Kids Camp counselor with Parks and Rec since 2006 and sees the incredible value this activity has for our youth. Sam has been a youth counselor for 4 years and loves it.

The girls not only organized a dinner dance, they coordinated with other friends to create and complete a one of a kind quilt to be auctioned off at the dinner.A quilt sew together with love by Julie Betz.

"This project has definately been a challenge and exercised our skills, but has also taught us some new lessons and skills. We still have a lot of organizing ahead of us but we know it will be successful and we are very excited."

Mark your calendars:
March 26th, 2011  from 5:30 to 11:30, Copperopolis Armory
There will be a cocktail hour, tri-tip dinner, raffle, and live music by The Copper Holdings Company band.
