Speaker from Orvis Cattle Ranch about Local Pasture Fed Beef coming in January

On January 25, 2011 from 5:30 to 8:00 pm at Camps restaraunt in Angels Camp the Calaveras Chapter of Slow FOod USA is featuring a speaker from the Orvis Cattle Company.

The Orvis Cattle Company is one of the premiere seedstock producers for the Hereford cattle industry locatedon the historical Snow Ranch along Hwy 4. The Orvis Family has dedicated it as a Public Land Trust so the land will always be used for grazing or agriculture only. Hear Don Harper, General Partner talk about the Orvis cattle operation, the Land Trust and raising of pasture-fed beef on the oldest and largest ranch in the Sierra Foothills.

The Calaveras Chapter of Slow Food USA's main goal is to support our local producers and become a food education resource for our county. They are also working to improve our children's diets and school lunch programs.
