Full moon July 12th

On July 12, 2014, we have the first full moon after the June 21 solstice.
The July 2014 full moon is also the first of three full-moon supermoons in 2014. Previously, we had two supermoons in January – on January 1 and 30 – but they were new-moon supermoons. The full moons on July 12, August 10 and September 9 all enjoy the supermoon designation because the centers of these full moons and the center of Earth are less than 361,863 kilometers (224,851 miles) apart. The closest supermoon of the year comes with the August 10 full moon, with a moon that’s only 356,896 kilometers (221,765 miles) from Earth.
Because it’s a supermoon, and relatively close to Earth, expect higher-than-usual tides in the days ahead.

Winning Ways Advice Column - ' 3 Questions that can turn your life around' by, Marge Powers

3 Questions that Can Turn Your Life Around
Dear Magic:  I was wondering if you could give me some advice.  It confuses me many times trying to figure out what is wrong, or what is right for me, and where I fit.  There are so many points of view.  How can a person tell what’s right for them?  Janice Jablonski
Dear Janice:  Yeah, I know what you mean, it took me a long time to figure out what was right or wrong for me, the world is such a crazy, overwhelming place, how are we supposed to know what’s true for us? So I acknowledge your concern.  Eventually after much soul seeking, I finally learned after many ups and downs that it’s not the answers you get from others, but the questions you ask yourself that help you grow stronger and know and trust what is really true for you.  From the list of questions below, you’ll be able to notice what I discovered:  There are no right or wrong answers..just yours!.  I hope you find this information helpful.
Good discoveries to you Jan.  Magic Powers

1.      If today were the last day of your life, would you want to do what you are about to do today?
I discovered that you have to live your own life in your own way.  That’s all there is to it.  Each of us has a unique fire in our soul for something that makes us feel alive…our passion, knowing what makes us Tick.  It’s your duty to find and keep it lit.  It works if you can stop caring too much about what everyone else wants for you, and start actually living for yourself.
·         Don’t hide behind other people’s or your culture’s rules and belief systems.
·         Don’t let others tell you what you want, do what work for you.
·         Don’t help others so much that you forget to help yourself first.
·         Design and experience YOUR own precious life.

The life you create from doing something that moves you is far better than the life you get from sitting around wishing you were doing it, even if it’s only ten minutes here and there.  Commit and trust yourself, you’re all you have!

State Controller releases June Cash Update

SACRAMENTO - State Controller John Chiang today released his monthly cash report for the month of June, and announced that the state's General Fund -- the primary account from which California funds its day-to-day operations and programs -- ended the fiscal year with a positive cash balance for the first time since June 30, 2007. A positive cash balance means that the state had funds available to meet all of its payment obligations without needing to borrow from Wall Street or the $23.8 billion available in its more than 700 internal special funds and accounts.

"While this is welcome news after seven years of record-high borrowing just to pay our everyday bills, we still have much work to do," Chiang said. "We should remain laser-focused on paying down the Wall of Debt, reversing the many accounting gimmicks to which we’ve become addicted and keeping the State as liquid as possible to avoid experiencing the payment delays and IOUs that plagued our State during the Great Recession.

Land Wanted - buyers looking for acreage in Angels Camp or Copperopolis area

                            LAND WANTED

If you are thinking of selling your parcel, please consider this. While many parcels remain unsold for extended periods of time, we have several buyers seeking acreage for vacation or retirement in the Angels Camp and Copperopolis Area.
They have $20,000 to $40,000 cash for a down payment. However, there is no institutional financing for bare land.  Seller financing is needed.
We recommend offering fifteen year amortized financing at 5% APR with 20% cash down payment. On a $100,000 sale, the monthly payment would be $632.63.  The seller also may receive tax benefits and cash proceeds at close of escrow.

A Big Boom blasts from Gold Rush Country WITH a visit from Myth Busters on the Discovery Channel, resulting in a local fundraiser.

Thursday July 10th, 6pm PST.  National broadcast launch of garbage truck blow up experiment on the Discovery Channel debuts ground zero from Calaveras County.  After receiving a call from the TV show producers, Dave Vaccarezza, owner of Cal-Waste, was asked to provide a garbage truck in their quest or question whether they could successfully blow it up.

In Early August (2013) we received a call, which we thought was a “goofball” call of someone who said they were from Myth Busters.”, Dave explains. “Blow up something that costs a few $100K?” After some thought Dave returned the call and agreed, but only under one very meaningful condition.  If they would donate some money to the local Youth Groups in Calaveras.  The idea was inspired by County Supervisor Merita Callaway to donate to Calaveras Youth Mentoring and also by County Supervisor Cliff Edson to donate to the Youth Center in Valley Springs. $500 to each and Cal-Waste would match their donation as well.
