Youth Tennis Clinics



Registrations Open For
Youth Tennis Clinics

            Registrations are now being accepted for a series of Youth Tennis Clinics to be held in Calaveras County beginning June 9.
            Organized by Angella Woods, a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) since 2003, the program is open to all junior players, ages 6 to 17, with a special emphasis on current and aspiring high school athletes.  The sessions will be held at Bret Harte High School, Angels Camp, and the Wintercreek Tennis Facility in Murphys

Youth tennis clinic

     Aspiring young tennis players from throughout Calaveras and it neighboring counties are invited to take part in the 15th annual Youth Tennis Clinic to be held at Bret Harte High School, Angels Camp on Saturday, May 17 from 9 to 11 a.m.
            There is no charge for the clinic that will be led by Angella Woods, a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) professional.  It is open to elementary through high school students regardless of current ability. 
            Assisting Woods will be local high school coaches and other tennis-teaching professionals.
            “Many youth from local and surrounding counties have participated in past free clinics,” says Woods.  “All players, beginners to advanced, are encouraged to participate.  This is a great opportunity for junior players to meet with other aspiring tennis players in the community.”
            During the free clinic players will be paired in groups according to age and ability where they will receive instruction through a variety of fun games and drills.
