Summer reading program - a great way to pass a hot day

The annual Copperopolis summer reading program has already hit its stride with a whopping 54 children signed up!

The program allows a child to read at their pace, hopefully 15 minutes per day. The children keep a time log accruing 1 point for every 15 minutes read. That 1 point is equal to 1 ticket, which when combined with other tickets, can be used in the library 'store' to purchase fun items such as coloring books, balloons, hula hoops, water bottles, pens, etc.

Senior Project to benefit Copper Branch Library

Local senior, Donald Lucas has chosen to support the Copperopolis Library for his senior project.
In doing so he is announcing an upcoming book sale where all proceeds benefit the Friends of the Library.

The Copperopolis Library will be having a Book sale this weekend Saturday, March 24, 12 - 4 pm and Sunday, March 25, 12-6 pm at 90 Copper Cove Dr. in the building next to the library. 

Books will be sold for: 50 cents per paperback, $1 per hardcover, $5 per bag, or the best price offered. VHS tapes are also available. Higher quality books will be priced separately. 

All of the proceeds from the event will go to the Copperopolis FOTL.

Friday night movie night at the Copper Branch Library

The Copperopolis Library will be hosting a kids movie night for kids 8 & up Friday December 9, 2011 from 4-6 pm.
This months movie will be Around the World in 80 Days starring Jackie Chan and Steve Coogan.

Around the World in 80 Days is a 2004 American comedy adventure film based on Jules Verne's novel of the same name. It stars Jackie Chan, Steve Coogan and Cécile de France. The film is set in 19th-century Britain and centers on Phileas Fogg (Steve Coogan), here reimagined as an eccentric inventor, and his efforts to circumnavigate the globe in 80 days. During the trip, he is accompanied by his Chinese valet, Passepartout (Jackie Chan). For comedic reasons, the film intentionally deviated wildly from the novel and included a number of anachronistic elements. (Wikipedia)

The annual Copperopolis Library spaghetti feed will be happening October 15, 2011 in Town Square from 5-7 pm.
Tickets are available at the Copperopolis Branch Library for $15.00 each or 2 for $25.00. Beer, wine, soda & water will be available for purchase starting at 4:30 pm.

The Town Square scarecrow auction will also be held October 15, 2011 5-8 pm. Each scarecrow auctioned will be raising funds for a local charity or group.

Live entertainment will be provided by our local Copper Idol Kids and other local talented youth.
