Copper's own Izzy Herrin takes Supreme Champion for Poultry at 2014 County Fair

15 year old Izzy Herrin, a freshman at Bret Harte and first year FFA member, took Supreme Champion poultry.

In addition to chickens Izzy chose to show rabbits.

"The rabbits were pretty easy to manage weights but the chickens is where it got harder but its all worth the while."

As showtime came closer Izzy was confident. "Knowing all of my FFA animals are all touched up and ready to be shown to perfection."

Izzy also enjoys Floriculture, Softball and Cheerleading.

She plans on going to college upon completion of high school, hopefully majoring in Floriculture with the goal to become a florist.

Inspiration for Izzy is found close by. "Both my Mom Dad and older Brother are inspiring to me because even when I get annoying they still have my back and cheer me on the whole way."

Westberg Boys bring home the ribbons at fair

The Westberg boys reined supreme at the 2014 Calaveras County Fair with Champion FFA pig, Reserve Champion FFA pig as well as Supreme and Reserve Champion Pigs.

There were 3 WB (Westberg Family Brand) Bred pigs in the Supreme Drive
.
As if their well bred pigs winning such high honors was not enough, the Westberg boys also completed a sweet sweep at showmanship, with Colby Westberg taking home FFA Showmanship and Brady Westberg coming in second.

Congratulations Westberg boys.

Entry Form Deadline: Saturday April 12, by 5 p.m. There is a drop box, at the Fairgrounds Office for your convenience.
 Entry Limit 2 per class unless otherwise specified.
 Entries must be delivered to the Fairgrounds: Tuesday May 6th noon-7:00 PM or Wednesday May 7th 10 AM-6 PM
 Entries are released on May 19, Noon to 6 PM.
