Johnathan Villanueva, a volunteer firefighter and an intern with Copperopolis Fire District has joined the Army National Guard and will be heading off to boot camp the end of January.
During his career as a firefighter Johnathan volunteered with Columbia FD, Murphys FD and CFPD. This past fire season, one of the worst on record, Johnathan began working with CalFire yet continues to volunteer with Copper when times allows.
He is a bit nervous but looking forward to an experience that can "only make me stronger."
" I wish him well during his National Guard Training. I know he will be an
asset to the Unit he will be assigned to upon graduation." CFPD Chief Kovac.
