The Lake Tulloch Bible church has begun, in earnest, an
outreach ministry for the community of Copperopolis hoping to create a ‘bridge’
between persons in need and available services within the community and county.
They will be offering emergency food and referral services
to seniors and families in our community including any state, county, or
federal services as well as utility services. This will also be the new
location for the Copperopolis Food Pantry for their monthly distribution. The
group hopes to be able to provide the bulk of their services at their new
‘Bridge’ home located in the Copper Cove Center on Copper Cove Drive suite A.
While The Bridge is fully and solely funded by the Lake
Tulloch Bible Church many volunteers will be spending their time helping with
assistance in filling out applications, locating employment opportunities,
resume help, transportation, etc. for those in need.
The Bridge mission statement is: “Connecting people
enriching lives and serving those most in need. We help individuals and
families by providing referral services that are responsive to the needs of
individuals and families seeking assistance.”
This follows the congregations’ feelings that ‘when there is a need,
sensed by a few, and each individual accepts responsibility to do what he can
with what he has, regardless of the odds, then God works a miracle.’
‘The Bridge’ open house is tentatively scheduled for
September 14th, 2013 where the community will have an opportunity to
meet the coordinators and staff of The Bridge. Official open date will be
Tuesday September 17, 2013.
