From my kitchen to yours…Cream Cheese Chocolate Chip Cookies
If you are looking for a recipe that creates a lighter, fluffier cookie, with a dash of decadence, this may just be the one. Using cream cheese as a butter substitute creates a rich flavor with a cake like consistency to the cookie.
Preheat oven to 375.
Blend together:
½ cup salted butter
½ cup cream cheese
2 large eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons vanilla
Once blended add 2 ¼ cups all purpose flour, mix. Hand fold in 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips. Add ½ cup chopped walnuts if desired. (Can use white chocolate chips for a more decadent flavor.)
Scoop dough with melon baller onto cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until top is slightly golden brown . Remove and cool on rack. Enjoy.
Makes approximately 5 ½ dozen cookies.
