Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association (HJTA) had endorsed Rico Oller for Assembly.
Oller said he was thrilled to have the strong support of the most respected tax-fighting organization in California.
Jon Coupal, President of HJTA, said Oller had earned a “strong, early endorsement because he has worked with us to keep taxes down, helped lead the fight to repeal Gray Davis’ illegal car tax and was a staunch defender of Proposition 13.”
Oller is a small business owner who served in the legislature in the 1990s and wants to return to the legislature to help fix the state’s fiscal mess.
Oller promised to be an effective advocate for taxpayers, a strong opponent of the excessive spending that plagues California and would oppose the kind of unbalanced budgets put out by the legislature in previous years.
During his previous tenure in the legislature, Oller’s tough anti-tax stands earned him straight “A"s by the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association and 100% ratings from the California Taxpayers Association.
