Five
piano students are at a beginning level with only four months of lessons
each. The other students have been
taking piano or voice lessons for two to twelve years. We all look forward to our recitals because
it brings joy to everyone who attends and it is a marker in how much each
student has progressed during the year.
Grace
Johnson is a vocal student of Suzanne Beauchimin. She sang "A Thousand Years" from
"Breaking Dawn." Her brother, Nathanial, played an original
composition in A Minor. Summer Hamari
played "Eyes Open," a Taylor Swift song, that she learned by watching
a YouTube video. Jackson Dodds performed
perfectly two of the most difficult pieces for his skill level.
In
addition to their music lessons, each child is an exemplary school student, and
all are involved in extra-curricular activities in which he or she excels. Piano teacher, Patt Hopper, says, "In
short, I can't say enough wonderful things about these children. I consider each one a blessing in my life,
and I am very thankful to be a part of their lives."
