At the CFPD Board meeting held 4-11-13 Captain Cantrell announced that the Copperopolis Professional Firefighters Association would be disbanding due to a unanimous "vote of confidence for our current administration and chief."
Cantrell said the dissolution of the union is in the works with some paperwork still to process.
Chief Kovacs took the helm of CFPD July 1, 2012, bringing with him over 30 years of firefighting service and experience.
