Copperopolis Parks & Recreation honors Earth Day by
hosting a community-wide, road side clean-up each April. Although only 15
volunteers turned out this year, they made a huge improvement picking up trash
on O’Byrnes Ferry Road, Copper Cove Drive, and out on the lake.
The award for the most unusual find goes to Ray who
uncovered an old miner’s skillet from a drainage ditch. Ron came in a close
second with what is guessed to be a Corvette side-pipe.
And a HUGE thank you goes to Kevin of Young’s IGA Payless
for feeding the work crews! Kevin cooked and served a hearty lunch of cheeseburgers,
hotdogs, chips and fruit and some very welcomed ice-cold drinks.
