CFPD Engineer Booked after threats to Chief

On October 1, 2012 CFPD Engineer Mark Moore was arrested and booked for 422PC which in part states 'any person who willfully threatens to commit a crime which will result in death or great bodily injury to another person.' Moore was bonded out and released.

According to Sheriff Dept PIO Sgt. Hewitt the two victims are CFPD Chief Steve Kovacs and CFPD Battalion Chief Jeff Millar.

A CFPD Firefighter witnessed Moore stating that he would harm himself and would take out Kovacs and Millar first. The witness also stated that Moore claimed to have a handgun in his truck. Due to HIPA laws and a possible internal investigation within CFPD the Sheriff PIO was not allowed to divulge more information.

CFPD Chief Kovacs still states that the district has no comment.

Restraining orders were prepared by Attorney Brian Ochoa and were put in place Friday afternoon, 10-5-12. The restraining order list multiple persons affiliated with CFPD.
