Youth Drowns in Yosemite

Yosemite, CA -- A 10 year-old boy has tragically died in Yosemite National Park, and another child remains missing.
Yosemite Ranger Kari Cobb says a family from Southern California was hiking in the park yesterday afternoon and stopped for a break near the Vernal Fall footbridge. Family members got into the Merced River, and two young boys, one 10 and the other six, got swept away in the current. Approximately 150 yards downriver, the 10 year-old was pulled from the water by a park visitor, and he was unsuccessfully given CPR.
