According to Calaveras CHP, the CHP will be conducting a DUI checkpoint in the Copperopolis area on August 18, 2012.
In a recent interview with Calaveras CHP Becky Myers it was stated that the CHP would have a minimum of two extra personnel and vehicles in the Copperopolis area on August 18, 2012 to insure the public's safety in light of the BUMP VI party being held at Lake Tulloch Resort. The Tuolumne CHP will also have three cars assigned to Copperopolis and the surrounding area for extra public safety. The funding for these extra positions/overtime comes from a State DUI grant, hence the DUI checkpoints.
