Copper kids place well in Countywide Spelling Bee

On April 19, 2012 many children, 6th through 9th grade, in Calaveras County came to the countywide spelling bee held at the Calaveras River Academy / Mountain Oaks in hopes of bringing home a win for, not only themselves, but for their school as well.

Two winners of the spelling bee were our own Copper kids.

Mark Twain 8th grader Jordan Strauch placed 1st which qualifies him to compete in the California State Spelling Bee in San Rafael on May 12, 2012.
                       AND
Bret Harte 9th grader Trisha Welch placed 3rd.
