Spellman Still Working on County Noise Ordinance

Together with Supervisor Wilensky, Copperopolis resident Jack Cox, County Counsel Janice Elliot, Supervisor Darren Spellman has been working on a noise ordinance plan for Calaveras County.

"One size fits all does not work" said Spellman, pointing out that what may work in West Point may not work on Lake Tulloch, the county will need "site specific policies."

Spellman said that as soon as the County Planning Director gets a handle on the general plan and the plan is pushed through with what is required by the state to become compliant, then a generic noise ordinance can be put in place with site specific community plans including their own noise ordinances.

Generic noise ordinances usually include policies that require no loud noises after 10 pm Sunday through Thursday and after midnight Friday and Saturday.
