First Arab Nation to Join Coalition Enforcing No Fly Zone Over Libya

According to a BBC news report Qatar is to send four planes to join the coalition enforcing the UN-mandated no-fly zone, the US and France have said. The move would make Qatar the first Arab country to play an active part in the campaign against Col Gaddafi, who has been battling a month-long revolt.

Qatar is an emirate in the Middle East currently having the worlds largest per capita production and proven reserves of both oil and natural gas. It is partially surrounded by the Persian Gulf, yet bordered on the South by Saudi Arabia; a strait of the Persian Gulf seperates Qatar from the Island nation of Bahrain.  Bahrain is the headquarters of the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet.
