Thomas F. Becker passed away peacefully in his home on
12/3/2013 surrounded by his loved ones. As He wished, He received Last Rights
from Father Garcia from St Anthony’s of Padua (Manteca). He also, received
additional prayers from Pastor Brandon Stearns & Gary Mangano, of Potter’s
Touch Church (Copperopolis).
Thomas F. Becker was born on January 7, 1940 in Norman,
Oklahoma, to Grace and George Becker. He lived in Oklahoma, Wisconsin, and The
countries of Columbia & Venezuela as a child. He was fluent in Spanish and
was a well-educated man. Tom graduated from Shattuck Military Academy in
Fairbault, Minnesota which paved the way of his career in the Armed Forces. Tom
served first in the U.S. Air Force 1959-1963, then the U.S. Coast Guard
1963-1983. He was highly decorated officer and a Marksman (Retired Coast Guard
CWOII).
In January of 1963 he
married his wife of 50 years Carol Foy. They traveled the Continental US &
Alaska for the US Coast Guard. They had 3 children: James born: 11/1963, Thomas
Jr. born: 3/1965 - deceased: 1966, & Roxanne born: 7/1968.
Tom was a hard
worker, a good father & husband. He loved Jesus Christ, his Lord &
Savior. He is Survived by his wife Carol, son James (Lathrop), daughter Roxanne
Torres (Anthony) Copperopolis, 3
beautiful sisters: Susan B. Tealdi (Fred) Oakland, Merry Johnson (Milt) Winters
, Lisa Malone (Michael – deceased) Livermore. He also was blessed in life to
have 6 grandchildren: Joshua &
Miranda (Harrisburg, Pa.), Anthony, Stefan (Stockton, Ca.), Sydnie, &
Sophia (Copperopolis). Tom was an uncle to many nephews and nieces.
After retirement
from the Coast Guard, the family settled in Stockton, CA. He worked for APS
Security Services 1983-1988. He also worked as a transporter for Delta Mortuary
Services 1988-1991, working with all of the Stockton - Lodi area mortuaries. He
finished college through MTI as a Medical Assistant and worked in the field
before retiring fully in 1995. Tom and
Carol moved to Pennsylvania 2001-2007. Eventually they moved back to California
& settled in Lathrop, CA to be closer to their grandchildren, children,
& His sisters.
Hobbies: Fishing and standing on his soapbox sharing his
opinion, He was also a lifelong fan of the San Francisco Giants Baseball &
49ers Football.
Interests: Loved to read, cook, music, watching Jeopardy and
playing Solitaire and Mah Jong
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, George & Grace
Becker, son Thomas F Becker Jr. & Brother in Law Michael Malone.
