'The Bridge' now open for business

'The Bridge' officially opens Tuesday September 17, 2013 at 9 am and will be open every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 to 1, located in the Copper Cove Center next to Primo's Pizza.
'The Bridge' is a resource center for those in need. It is a pilot program run by volunteers from the Lake Tulloch Bible church with emphasis on linking persons within the community with resources offered throughout the county. From applications for WIC and food stamps to help with creating a resume.
Each volunteer has signed a confidentiality waiver so that each client's personal information is just that, personal and confidential.
The county offers many programs which citizens may not be aware of, from immunizations to car seats for children. Connections to AA and First 5 programs. All of which can be accessed through the Bridge.
Volunteer Kelly Wedman knows the Bridge is "on a learning curve" and hopes to learn "what the community needs are so that the Bridge can tailor a program to the community."
Pastor Ted hopes for the Bridge to grow and "is in this for the long haul. We will start small and we will grow with it."
