Sheriff’s 4th of July Weekend Public Awareness Statement
(San Andreas, CA) The 4th of July holiday weekend is upon us, which for many people means a long weekend of recreational activities and celebrations. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind everyone, especially with the heat wave that is upon us, to practice personal safety, including staying hydrated, wearing life jackets when visiting our lakes and rivers, and maintaining common sense fire safety practices. One careless act with fireworks or other flammable devices could ignite a fire for which you could be legally responsible, both in criminal and civil courts. The sheriff’s office also wants to remind everyone to be respectful of your neighbors and others around you. Calaveras County does have a noise ordinance in effect. The noise ordinance can be found in its entirety on the Calaveras County website.
