12/14/2012
Hours: 5pm - 8pm
Location: Columbia State Historic Park
Contact: 532-1850 or 536-1672
The Columbia Chamber of Commerce and its Merry Merchants invite you to
enjoy an evening of old fashioned Christmas charm in Columbia State
Historic Park. Columbia's merchants are open for business Friday
evening, December 14, from 5 to 8 pm, for stress-free shopping in the
tradition of times gone by. Columbia is decorated for the Christmas
season with traditional boughs and wreaths, and docents will be decked
out in their old-time finery.
Greet Father Christmas at the
Tibbits House and receive a gift of freshly-made gingerbread -- bring
your camera if you'd like a picture with Father Christmas! Children will
sing Christmas carols, and all can enjoy traditional food and drink
from Columbia stores, such as roasted chestnuts, gingerbread and hot
chocolate.
Take a free carriage ride on Main Street, and view
the fanciful gingerbread houses on display in the Columbia House
Restaurant. If you'd like to enter this free contest, make a decorate a
gingerbread house and deliver to the Columbia House on Main and State
Streets by 5 pm December 14. Judging is at 6 pm. Call Carolyn Prindle at
588-9704 for more information on the contest.
The Merry
Merchants event is fun for all ages. For more information, call 532-1850
or the Columbia Chamber of Commerce at 536-1672 or visit
