Lin, a resident of Copperopolis for 19 years, was recently re-elected to serve another four year term on the Mark Twain Health District Board and appointed as Chair of the Board.
Lin brings to the table 35 years of working knowledge as an occupational therapist while currently working as a Regional Manager for a Brighton Rehabilitation Services overseeing 10 skilled nursing facilities. Lin also is a Professor at Los Rios Community College District teaching in Gerontology and Occupational Therapy Assistant programs.
There are 85 healthcare districts in California. These special districts operate independently from City or County Governments. Mark Twain Healthcare District has evolved from its original purpose of building and operating a community hospital to managing real estate holdings, leasing locations to house community based healthcare services. Most recently, MTHD purchased land in Angels Camp to build a new Rural Health Clinic/Family Medical Center which will replace the leased location it has grown out of in the Save Mart shopping center.
Lin’s duties as Chair will be to run the Board meetings, act on behalf of the Board as needed and represent the Board. Lin also sits on the ACHD (Association of California Healthcare Districts) board of directors. The ACHD advocates legislatively for all Healthcare Districts in California. ACHD also provides education and training.
