Evacuations: Evacuations: Go to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s blog (pio.edso.org) .The Sheriff’s office manages all evacuation activities for the county and is updating information as changes occur. To assist in this effort, the Chief Administrative Office of El Dorado County has set up a hotline and webpage. The hotline phone number is (530) 642-8208;7263. The hotline will be available from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. Saturday -­‐ Sunday. Voicemail is available outside of the hotline hours. Evacuation Shelter Location: The evacuation shelter is located at the Camino Seventh-­‐day Adventist Church at 3520 Carson Road in Camino.

Conditions: Current Situation Zone 1 (northern portion): Firefighters continued to make progress throughout the night increasing the containment lines in Zone 1. Fire intensity diminished after sunset with minimal growth, however there was lateral fire progression to the east in the lower section of Zone 1. Dozers widened and improved access roads and continued the contingency work along the 26 rd. Precipitation ranging from ¼” – ½” along with wind gusts up to 20 mph is expected today. A Fire information call center has been established in Truckee to assist citizens in the Lake Tahoe basin. Current Situation Zone 2 (southern portion): The completion of containment lines continues to be coordinated between Zone 1 and Zone 2. Overnight a break in the weather over the fire area brought lower temperatures and higher humidity allowing firefighters to improve control and containment lines. On Wednesday September 24, 2014 an inmate firefighter from Norco Camp was struck by a limb and was air lifted to Sutter Roseville Medical Center. Repopulation of the community of Swansboro began on Wednesday September 24, 2014 at 6:00 p.m.
The King Fire is being managed in Unified Command with Eldorado National Forest, El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office and CAL FIRE. The Federal Team CIIMT 5 (Jim Giachino) will be coordinating firefighting operations of Zone 1 (northern portion) of the fire, and CAL FIRE IMT 5 (Kevin Smith) is managing Zone 2 (southern portion) of the fire.
