CHP press release re: STOLEN BOAT AND TRAILER FROM BURSON

San Andreas, CA – On Wednesday, July 30, 2014 the San Andreas CHP office responded to the report of several stolen vehicles in the 13000 block of Camanche Parkway South.  Taken in the theft was a Cargo trailer, a 2002 Bayliner boat and its trailer.  The Cargo trailer was found abandoned in Stockton on August 1, 2014.  The Bayliner boat and trailer are still outstanding.

On August 12, 2014, the San Andreas CHP office received a phone call from an unidentified female.  The female related that her husband was interested in purchasing a boat from a male.  She wanted to check and see if the boat was stolen.  The female provided a vessel CF number that matched the CF number of the stolen boat taken on July 30th.  The call disconnected prior to our officer being able to obtain any more details other than that the boat was possibly located between Valley Springs and San Andreas.

The CHP wants to remind all residents to never purchase a vehicle or vessel if the seller does not have supporting documentation.  The buyer should ask for the title, registration card and/or loan documents and should compare the name on the supporting documents with identification from the seller.  If a buyer has questions about the status of a vehicle or vessel please contact your local CHP office.  If anyone has information concerning the stolen boat and trailer please contact the San Andreas CHP office at (209) 754-3541.
