Games, songs, lessons, crafts, etc with a Christ centered theme were enjoyed by all.
The theme of the school was 'Weird Animals'. With the emphasis being that though someone may be different or 'weird' to you they are still loved by God. Some folks got into the spirit and dressed 'weird' to show kids it was OK to be different.
In the center of the room was a huge tree trunk decorated with small paper flowers with writing on them. Each flower represents a 'God sighting'. If a child saw or thought of something nice someone had done they wrote it down and placed it on the tree trunk. This repeated action taught the kids to look for the good no matter where you are.
