Music in the Park series: New Wave, Sax Rock is at West Point Elementary School Ball Field July 2, 2014

Really cool, modern rock will bring Calaveras Arts Council’s Free Music in the Park 2014 series to new highs at West Point Elementary School, Ball Field on July 2.  The Hot Dark, one of the most popular rock bands in the foothills, performs their new sound, musical prowess and dexterity for all who come.  Everyone from near and far is welcome.  Music plays from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, but come early, bring your picnic dinner, and sit back and enjoy the evening. Remember to bring non-alcoholic beverages of choice.  Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on school property.

Music in the Parks forth of ten free music performances bring foothill musicians Kiel Williams on guitar and lead vocals; Rick Moore on sax and keyboards; Owen Ridings on guitar and vocals; Andy Merrill on bass; and Nicholas Lefler on drums to the stage.  These five men are The Hot Dark.

Band members have performed as Alma, Descendents of Prospectors, and as back up to Austin singer songwriter Patrice Pike.  They are a collaborative original music project, tirelessly writing and performing in the Northern California area for the past three years.  As their music progressed to something so far beyond their initial conception from their previous bands, the new sound is about energetic dance grooves, with meaningful lyrical content, and sexy sax lines.

To get to West Point Elementary from Mokelumne Hill, take highway 26 East into West Point.  Stay right (do not go through town) until you come to the stop sign.  School is on the right.

Classic rock duo, Suprecret, perform their version of rock, blues, jazz, reggae and country music on Wednesday, July 9 in Valley Springs, Ball Field.
