Sonora Regional Medical Center - Wound Care Center Recognized for Excellence in Wound Healing




March 20, 2014 (Sonora, CA) — Physicians and staff at the Center for Wound Care at Sonora Regional Medical Center gathered Tuesday, March 18, to celebrate receiving the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Center of Excellence award. The Center has exceeded Healogics, Inc., Center of Distinction quality standards for three consecutive years. In 2013, the Center achieved a healing rate of 92 percent in 30 median days. In addition, 92 percent of patients rated their overall experience at the Center as “excellent.”

The Center was awarded this prestigious honor by Healogics, Inc., the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. The award is named for Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a pioneer in wound care and the former Chief Medical Officer for Healogics.

The Center for Wound Care is a member of the Healogics network of over 500 centers, with access to benchmarking data and experience of treating over two million chronic wounds. The Center for Wound Care provided more than 3,000 specialized treatments in 2013, often preventing amputations and helping patients back to their quality of life.
