Calaveras County judges John Martin and Hugh Swift, along with
the Board of Supervisors, selected Sam Leach as the new chief probation
officer. Leach will begin in April with a full transition by June 2.
Leach has extensive experience in the field of probation. He
comes to Calaveras County from Sutter County, where he has worked as a
supervising probation Officer since 2005. He is originally from
Riverside County, which is also where his career in probation began.
