Here is some important info if you are headed to New Melones now that it is open:
Use caution if you launch at the Glory Hole Ramp until the Bureau of Reclamation moves the docks to the lower ramp-
the very end of the concrete is not far from the edge of the water, so
when launching, your trailer tires may slip off into the mud and muck
and get stuck.
On Saturday, Highway 49 will be closed and you will be detoured over the bypass (adds about 10 minutes to your drive).
Angels Camp is holding a big Gold Rush Days celebration in downtown
Angels. Goldrush Days is fun, with lots of music, food, shopping, and
history gold rush history- Mark Twain will be there!
If you need a hunting or fishing license in the next few days, you may want to purchase it before you get here- our DFG sales terminal is down (again!). They are sending us a new one, and if will be here Friday afternoon or Monday, and we will be able to sell licenses when it arrives.
