Bret Harte Homecoming JV brings home a win - by Kristina Zimmerman

Friday night under the lights was in full swing again, but this time, it was Homecoming! October 11, at Angels Camp, Bret Harte celebrated the annual Homecoming with a downtown parade, rally, announcement of the Homecoming queen, cheerleaders and of course, the football games.

Homecoming started off full swing with the parade leading to the downtown rally. Staff and students were able to come together as one in celebration.

The parade was then followed by the downtown rally, where cheerleaders and band members performed, guardian angels were revealed, and the football players got fired up. Once the rally was over and the community was set into high gear, the JV game began its battle against Amador.

The JV Bullfrogs dominated and in the end they come out with a win of 27-14. Great job boys!

During the halftime, the AMA cheerleaders were able to show what Bullfrog spirit they have with a great routine that had the whole crowd smiling.

The homecoming queen nominees were announced as well and the beautiful Hailey Smoot won, which is something she has wanted since she was a little girl. Hailey has been a Calaveras County resident her whole life, which is what made her want and pursue her goal. Congratulations Hailey!

After the JV game and halftime, the Bret Harte stands were roaring with excitement, and soon the varsity game began. Both football players and cheerleaders were on their A game, with an amazing halftime routine from the cheerleaders and determination from the boys. After a long tough battle, Amador won with a score of 41-6.

Homecoming, once again, has proven to be an event that the whole community takes to the heart. It is something that brings us all together and we can share equally as one.
