Library craft days incorporate reading and fun

Each Wednesday from 11 to 12 the children of Copperopolis are invited to participate in a craft classs at the local library. The children are read a book and a creative craft based on the book is then created under the guidance of volunteer Carla Lucas.

This week the children were read  The Story of the Root-Children by Sibylle von Olfers. Next week the story will be Diary of a Worm by Doreen Cronin, and one of the crafts for next week will be a "worm jar" for display at the library. (Kids will be able to come back and see how the worms have mixed the layers in the jar). After story time the children created their own masterpieces to take home!

Some children were bitten by the reading bug and continued to read while others were more than happy to read to the little ones who asked to be read to.
