Ladies Auxliary Community Potluck a tasty treat

On May 27, 2013 after the Flag Raising Ceremony performed by the VFW Post 12118 held at the Copperopolis Cemetery the Ladies Auxiliary invited the community to a potluck at Blackcreek Park.

The event was not only to create a community atmosphere on Memorial Day but to introduce the community to the Ladies Auxiliary and let them know of their presence.

Approximately 50 to 70 people were served a veritable smorgasbord of chicken, ham, deviled eggs, tossed salad, macaroni salad, brussel sprouts, garlic bread, cake, cookies, fresh fruit, spaghetti, pasta, and much more. Not a single person left hungry.

Chairman of the event and treasurer Shirley Burke expressed great thanks to all the volunteers who helped and the community that came out to support them.

The Ladies Auxiliary has been in existence since March 2012 and has participated in the Homecoming Parade, Veterans Day Parade, Support the Troops care packages, pledge of allegiance at Copperopolis Elementary, and more.
