Copper Fire fills their boots for the Food Pantry

On May 25, 2013 the staff - volunteer and paid - of Copperopolis Fire Protection District along with representatives from the Copperopolis VFW Post 12118 and the Food Pantry held a 'Fill the Boot' event at the Lake Tulloch Plaza.

Twice yearly the CFPD holds this event on Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. According to past years this event is the largest fund raiser for the Copperopolis Food Pantry. With the number of families served through the food pantry rising monthly the funds raised by CFPD are needed and well used.

At the 2012 Labor Day event the 'fill the boot' raised approximately $2500.00, at the Memorial Day 2013 'fill the boot' the community pulled together and donated $3,137.26!!!!

Volunteer Firefighter Association President Don Rollings expressed his thankfulness to all personnel involved and the community at large.
