Saddle Creek Garden Club looking for volunteers for their school beautifying project

The Saddle Creek Garden Club has been working for some time on fundraising, through their Garden Tours and funding through the student body, donations of time, expertise and materials to rid the front of Copperopolis Elementary School of their thorny patch of ground where the children wait for the bus daily. After sterilizing the ground, to rid the ground of unwanted goatheads, and lining up all the materials, including ~180 plants, the Garden Club is finally "going to be able to implement our Signature Project at Copper School - the planting at the Bus Drop-Off area, also known as 'The Slope' " says Bonnie Schaefer, Project Chair.

The project date is Saturday, March 23, starting at 9:00 a.m. and, if all goes well, the last plant will go in the ground by 3:00 p.m.

The group hopes to have volunteers from the school, Copper Canyon Church and the Garden Club. If you would like to volunteer on this day please show up with your gloves, a shovel and a bucket (all labeled), your smile and your willingness to beautify our school.
