Barrel of Monkeez - emphasis on 'family' fun

The newly opened Barrel of Monkeez in the Angels Camp Fairgrounds is nothing short of a phenominal family fun creation by owners Jennifer and Matt Iannerelli. This young dynamic duo decided to bring kids entertainment to a new level when after having their first child Aiden they found that there were little to no family friendly kid fun places to go in the tri-county area.

What began as an off-the-cuff conversation with "Hey, what if we opened a bounce house place?" has turned into every kids dream come true. With Jennifer's eye for interior design and Matt's creative construction know-how, the two have definitely created a one-of-a-kind, knock-your-sox-off-fun kind of business, each crediting the other for the creative ideas, ingenuity and the finished product.

When you enter the multi thousand square foot 'grounds' you are immediately transported to a fun jungle-like playland for all ages. Murals, painted by locals, adorn almost all the free wall space depicting jungle life at its finest. Each area specific to its play feature yet moving fluidly to the next. Faux tiki torches and polynesian flowers light the way throughout the area. There is miniature golf, tri-cycle racing, human bowling, laser tag, bouncy rooms the size of a small home and more, much, much more. Bringing a bit of computerization to their fun house the Iannerelli's have a computerized game floor with over 30 games AND a karaoke/dance floor.

"We wanted to engage children, get them out with their parents to have fun." Said Jennifer. Matt admits to trying all of the play equipment many, many times, as his young son loves to exercise both his parents regularly on all the equipment.

Barrel of Monkees offers party packages for schools, clubs, families, and any other group. Food is available, though as Jennifer said, "we tried to stay as nutritious as possible" offering granola bars, juices, yogurt along with mainstays of burritos and mac & cheese and more. The facility, being in a warehouse, is cold, but with a little play action you warm up quickly. Wear your sox and comfortable clothes, come with the idea of staying a while, but if for some reason you can't, thats ok, your admission price is for all day, you can head home put the kids down for a nap and come back later.
