VFW Post 12118 Thanks you - the Community of Copperopolis

To the Copperopolis Community and everyone that participated in the first Veterans Day Parade, Nov. 11, 2012, THANK YOU!

Thanks go to the following people, organizations, businesses, state and local government offices; Lake Tulloch Lions Club, Payless IGA, Calaveras Public Works, Copperopolis Fire Protection District, Calaveras Sheriff’s Department (Deputy Newnam and Sheriff Volunteers), California Highway Patrol, McCartys Construction, Nancy Turner, Josh Pfeiffer, Foothill Sanitary/Hocking Portables, CalTel, Copper Canyon Baptist Church, Copperopolis Volunteer Fire Association (Don Rollings, Levi Rollings, Brian Nolan, Stacey Nolan), Betsy Duncan and Valerie Shimkus. And thank you to all the James D. Piper Veterans of Foreign Wars members and Ladies Auxiliary, the ‘Go Devils’ Military Jeep Club, Sierra Angels Car Club, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association 33-2, VVA 391 Motorcycle Group, and all veterans that joined in the parade so that the community could honor your service. Thank you all.

Each and every person, group, and organization deserves all the thanks for their time, their donations and their cooperation in allowing the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 12118 to hold the first annual Copperopolis Veterans Day Parade. Above all others involved in this endeavor, I wish to thank Charity Maness the most. Charity made this event happen. She contacted all the right people and Departments, obtained all the necessary permits and received permission from all those concerned to have this Parade. Thank you Charity for all you do.

Lastly, I wish to thank all the residents of the Copperopolis Community that took the time and interest to attend the Veterans Day Parade. Your applause and kind words made our hearts swell with pride and thanks. For many of the participating Veterans, this was their first Veterans Day Parade. We were honored by your attendance and (once) again, Proud to Serve.

If I have missed anyone, forgive me. There were so many people involved with this event, I’m sure I may have forgotten someone or some organization.
